Coated paper is a common name, which is called in mainland China, and it is called pink paper in Hong Kong, China. It is one of the most used papers in the printing industry. The official name should be printed coated paper, which is made by coating a layer of white paint on the surface of the base paper and processed by super calendering. It is widely used in real life. The beautiful wall calendars you see, posters sold in bookstores, book covers, illustrations, art books, picture albums, etc., are almost all made of coated paper, all kinds of exquisitely decorated packaging, paper handbags, stickers , trademarks, etc. are also widely used in coated paper. Coated paper is made of coated base paper after coating and decoration processing. The surface is smooth and fine. There are two kinds of split surface and cloth pattern. The surface of the paper is smooth, the whiteness is high, and the performance of ink absorption and ink retention is very good. It is mainly used for offset printing and gravure printing with fine screen lines, such as high-end picture albums, calendars, books and periodicals, etc. The disadvantage is that the powder is easy to stick and fall off after being exposed to moisture, so it cannot be stored for a long time.

The English original name of pink paper is Art Paper, which is a common name of an imported product. This kind of paper is a coated processed paper first developed by the British in the middle of the 19th century. White and fine china clay is blended into paint, and evenly brushed on the surface of base paper (coating one side or both sides), and high-grade printing paper is made. Because the process is like a woman applying powder to her face, it is called powder paper.

Coated paper is divided into single-sided coated paper, double-sided coated paper, matte coated paper, and cloth-pattern coated paper. According to the quality, it is divided into three grades: A, B, and C. The main raw materials of coated paper are coated base paper and coating. The requirements for coated base paper are uniform thickness, small stretchability, high strength and good water resistance. There are no spots, wrinkles, holes and other paper defects on the paper surface. The coating used for coating is composed of high-quality white pigments, adhesives (such as polyvinyl alcohol, casein, etc.) and auxiliary additives. The feature of version paper is that the paper surface is very smooth and smooth, with high smoothness and good gloss. Because the whiteness of the paint used is more than 90%, and the particles are extremely fine, and it has been calendered by a super calender, the smoothness of the coated paper is generally 600-1000s. At the same time, the paint is evenly distributed on the paper surface to show a pleasing white color. Used for high-end art printing, wall calendars, posters, albums, color illustrations, book covers and advertising trademarks, etc.

      Coated paper is available in 100, 157, 200, 250, 300, 400, and 450 grams, all of which can be used on inkjet printers. There are two types of coated paper, single-sided and double-sided. Weight: 70, 80, 100, 105, 115, 120, 128, 150, 157, 180, 200, 210, 240, 250 (g/ m2); of which: 105, 115, 128, 157 (g/ m2) imported There are many paper specifications.

80g double copper paper thickness 0.06 is generally used for office printing certificate

105g double copper paper thickness 0.08 is generally used for the inner pages of magazines

128g double copper paper thickness 0.1 is generally used for corporate albums and magazines

157g double copper paper thickness 0.12 is generally used for product catalog packaging

200g double copper paper thickness 0.17 is generally used for menu invitations

250g double copper paper thickness 0.265 is generally used for high-quality packaging

300g double copper paper thickness 0.35 is generally used for album covers.

The base paper of coated paper is high-quality roll newsprint or offset printing paper, and the high-grade coated paper is made of special base paper. The top coat adheres firmly to the base paper. The paper surface is super calendered, the coating is firm, no bubbles, no streaks, strong gloss, and high smoothness. The smoothness of coated paper is generally above 600s, which is more than 10 times higher than that of offset paper. In this way, the coated paper can be in close contact with the printing plate, and the dots can be printed clearly. The pH value of coated paper is around 7, which has no adverse effect on the lithographic dampening solution and has no adverse effect on the ink drying process. On the coated paper, the ink adheres quickly and dries quickly. After drying, it can also bring out the luster. The dot reproducibility is good, the ink layer is thin, the image is clear, and the dots are smooth. The dimensional stability of coated paper is also better than that of offset paper. Printing on coated paper can meet the requirements of accurate overprinting. The tensile strength and surface strength of coated paper are also high enough to resist the high pulling force generated by the viscous ink film used. Due to the above points, high-grade printed matter is often printed on coated paper.
